Who We Are
Our Story
- At The Rio Play Book, we believe every young athlete deserves the chance to play—no matter their financial situation. Sports keep our minds focused, our bodies active, and our lives moving in the right direction. I know firsthand how powerful sports can be; without them, my life could have taken a very different path. That’s why we offer financial assistance to help youth athletes stay involved and supported.
- We also introduce both young athletes and Military Veterans to financial literacy, because these skills aren’t taught enough in schools or at home. Learning financial discipline early builds confidence, stability, and long‑term opportunity. Through our partnership with the Arizona Council on Economic Education, we explore real financial strategies—budgeting, saving, investing—and give athletes and Veterans the tools to build a nest egg and prepare for a stronger future.
- Helping Veterans understand the importance of financial literacy is especially meaningful to me. When I was on active duty and deployed, I wish I had access to the kind of financial education we teach today. It’s a skill that could have helped me build a nest egg for a down payment on a home, create a cushion to transition into civilian life with less stress, or take my time finding the right job to support my family. These are real opportunities that financial literacy creates
